Green smoothies are amazing throughout the day. They are filling and refreshing, healthy, nutritious and delicious. My favorite combo!
I prefer to start every day with a smoothie and I did so for the last 1,5 years. It gives me the feeling of absolute lightness and comfort, satisfaction and happiness! Just imagine, you drink super tasty fruits and veggies, you play with ingredients, textures and taste, and combinations are really countless.
My recent obsession is this green smoothie which is even more delicious due to the fact that raspberries, cucumbers and squash are from my mom’s garden!
The smoothie recipe is below, but few more words first
Every time I cook I try to use all raw fresh ingredients. Frozen products are losing their nutrients, remember this when you’d want a nicer texture for the smoothie. Frozen berries and bananas (nana ice-cream) give you a lovely thick and frothy texture but you are depriving yourself of vitamins. I do add some frozen berries occasionally but I don’t consider them as a vitamin booster, they add a nice taste and have some health benefits, this is it. (but we still love nana ice-creams, right? Because that’s a dessert, no judgement here).
Oh, I also don’t like to add water to smoothies since my portions are large and smoothies are not too thick anyways, so the less liquid the better. However, you may use water or coconut water here if you like.
