Today’s the recipe with peanut butter for you!
Peanuts are not everyone’s favorite. But if you like them, then you’ll be excited about the today’s recipe.
To be honest, this recipe is without any background. As usual, I wanted to cook several kinds of energy sweets at once, and I decided that one of them would definitely be with peanut butter.
Its bright taste is impossible to forget, don’t you agree? Due to its rich taste, peanut butter is a perfect match with something fresh like an apple or celery (!). However, today we’ll be making some sweet peanuts, which will remind of traditional chocolate truffles (thanks to combination with carob).
These delicious energy sweets are very filling due to the oatmeal and flax meal. Moreover, these sweets are super healthy with not a gram of unhealthy ingredients.
By the way, this recipe calls for carob – ground pods of a carob tree which grows in the Mediterranean.
If you’ve never heard of it, then I’ll say that carob is an excellent alternative to cacao (raw natural cacao, not Nesquik).
Despite the fact that both products contain antioxidants and are health beneficial, carob is still more interesting – it has the property of reducing appetite and is not addictive, besides, carob is much sweeter, somewhat caramel-like, so it does not require a large amount of additional sweetener. Depending on the degree of roasting, carob has different tastes, and you can always choose your own!
By the way, the carob is also good for those who are allergic to chocolate. This can be a great solution.
Cooking any healthy sweets is easy, you just need to have a food processor or a blender at hand.
Today, due to the fact that we use a lot of dry ingredients, we need to be patient while making sweets “stick together”.
I didn’t want to add too much liquid sweet syrup, and that’s why the dry sweets should be really well pressed. And that’s the reason I got them in a form of “barrels”. Perhaps you can play with the form yourself. Make them classic triangular shaped truffles will be quite a challenge. But if you do, I will be very glad to see your creations! #healthyfoodembassy on Instagram.
