Peanut butter is something almost everyone knows from childhood. However, when we grow up we stop eating it because we start counting calories and analyzing the food nutrition labels. Unfortunately, most of the mass-produced PB are poor quality, with artificial additives and sugar.
I wonder why manufacturers add all those ugly elements to the pure nut butter that is so easy to make at home?
In fact you only need 1 ingredient when making a nut butter – nuts. You also need a high quality food processor which won’t heat too fast since the process of making any nut butter takes up to 20 minutes.
If you wish you can always add syrups, honey, salt, vanilla, cacao to your butters. You may also want to experiment with adding some flower petals or spices.
Since peanuts are very bright and quite oily nuts, I don’t like to add anything except for honey and a pinch of salt. And the result is real good – you get creamy and flavorful peanut butter, moderately sweet and bright due to the salt presence. You will absolutely love this butter!
